What. A. Trip.

We spent a fun, relaxing weekend in NC celebrating Christmas with my parents and siblings. The whole weekend was a great time but here are the highlights of our trip home. Just so you know, if you can do a post just on the trip home, somthings not right!!

• The 4 yr old wild man fell asleep within minutes of leaving. That is unusual but I'll take whatever I can get!
• An hour later the boy woke up, kinda groggy and not looking so good. One drink of gatorade later and every single thing he had eaten earlier that day came back up. Not once but twice!
• We were within minutes from our stopping point to eat but made an emergency stop on the side of the road to remove all soiled clothing, pillows and car seat cover and to scrap what chunks we could out of the truck seat and floor.
• Naked boy sat on my lap up to McDonalds. After carrying him to the bathroom in his undies (it was 35* outside) to get cleaned up he said, "those people were looking at me cuz I don't have clothes on." Poor guy.
• GPS/wife in a box/crazy lady took us on a 2 mile trip thru the country to do a U turn to take us to the nearest Kmart to buy supplies to clean out the truck.
• All the while Ryan was on my lap in the front seat, buckled in with Abigail and I.
• Thankfully we didn't see any cops on the 6 mile trip up the interstate.
• Hannah serenaded (sp?) us with a song she made up about the wife in a box and added a few lines about Jesus and his wings. Don't know where that came from but I got a laugh.
• Half an hour later and one partially clean truck and kid later, we could still smell the chunkage (lots of pineapple--it could have been worse) but we were on our way, again.
• There was NO traffic the entire trip. Unusual but, again, I'll take what I can get!
• Another emergency stop on the side of the road to remove a vomit filled kmart bag from sick boy's lap and to replace it with a trash bag and we were on our way, again.
• The rest of the trip was peaceful while the kids watched a movie.
• McDonalds messed up our food when we finally felt like eating something but what else is new.
• We got back to Charleston and Ryan announced he had to go #2 so we stopped at a gas station.
• 10 minutes later and no BM, we were on our way, again. Thankfully with just half an hour to go!
• Our 4 hr trip turned into about 6 hrs but we made it, safe and sound!

Ryan has been begging me for days to let him go play in the snow but I hadn't been letting him because he's sick and I'm trying to get us all well before going to NC this weekend to finally celebrate Christmas with my family. With all the fresh snow we had today, I just couldn't say no anymore!

Things have gone surprisingly smooth today. Usually when Hannah doesn't have school they play great together for awhile and then she gets tired of him and they end up fighting all evening.

I'm suspecting there will no school again tomorrow but I haven't gotten the call yet. They like to call at 5:20am and tell us. It's been snowing basically all day. So far we have at least 6 inches, probably more.

Eph 1:11,"In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

The other day I wrote about being thankful for my inheritance that awaits me in heaven. I couldn't think of anything to say about the second half of the verse until I started thinking about his will. I can't help but think of all the things in my life that have happened because of His Will, not mine. So I went back thru some of the pics I have on my computer right now to get a few that represent his will in my life.

Our house. This pic was taken from the railroad tracks so it isn't a very good one b/c of all the weeds and stuff growing. Brad bought our house a few months before we got married from his great uncle and I know it isn't fancy or great but it holds all of the memories we've made siince the very beginning and I love it for no other reason that that! Since everything happens for a reason, I'm assuming it was God's Will for us to have this house.

Family. It was God's Will for me to have the parents I have and the siblings I have. I'm so thankful for every one of them.

My husband. I know I've said it before but I completely believe God moved us both to WV within a year of each other so we could meet in school and spend the rest of our lives together.

I shouldn't even have to say anything about this. I love this unborn child as much as the two children I've cared for for the past 6 and 4 yrs. I'm so thankful God saw fit to let me do it again one more time.

I'm so thankful that God is in charge and knows what he's doing in my life. I know that my will is nothing compared to His Will. Even in situations that I don't understand or when I think he doesn't know what he is doing, I always look back and thank him for what he did!
