Currently I am sitting on the kitchen floor with Lightning and Smore (the piggies) running around me. I am researching for my Bible Club lessons. I just can't get enough of it! I started a curriculum a while back that is basically a timeline of the Bible. So we are starting at the very beginning and just going thru the Bible. If that isn't exciting enough, the stories (Creation, Cain kills Abel, Noah) are just the backdrop for the greatest story of God's plan of our salvation SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING! I have such a renewed excitement for the things of God's word. I love that nearly everything has an underlying message showing God's love, grace and mercy for us. So often we focus on teaching the "stories" that are in the Bible but neglect the real message. So for the past couple months, I have been witnessing hot and heavy to these kids. SOmetimes I don't think they are nearly as excited as I am or even care what I am saying, whichis typical when you are trying to teach 7 rowdy K-5 kids.
ANyway, I say all that just to give you this info that was refreshed to me this evening while looking for how many years are betweek Adam and Noah. I am pretty sure dad taught on this once but it's been awhile and I seem to have forgotten!
The gap between Adam and Noah is about 1100 years.
There are 10 generations:
•Adam - name means: Man (is)
•Seth - name means: Appointed
•Enosh - name means: Mortal, frail
•Kenan - name means: Sorrow
•Mahalalel - name means: Blessed God, praise God
•Jared - name means: Shall come down
•Enoch - name means: Commencement, teaching
•Methuselah - name means: His death shall bring
•Lamech - name means: Lament, Lamentation, Despairing
•Noah - name means: Comfort or Rest
Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow (but) The blessed God shall come down teaching His death shall bring the despairing comfort or Rest - Sums up the Christian Gospel.
Noah was 600 years old when Methuselah died. Which was same year the Flood started.

Long time no type!
I realize it has been a rather long time since I have posted anything. There is no excuse for my absence. Just not very high on my list since I have nothing great to say! What have I been up to? Why, thanks for asking!
The kids and I spent the weekend at my sister's house in Ohio, babysitting her rugrats (I say that in the most endearing way possible), while she and her hubby went away for the weekend.
The next weekend, we hosted Thanksgiving here. It turned out to be a great time! Everyone in my house ended up sick after everyone left....except me, Thank God! It was very nice to have my mom around for a week.
SOmewhere in there we got two guinea pigs. I have owned a lot of pets but this is a first for guinea pigs. I have to say, I'm very impressed with them. It took them a few days to get used to their new surroundings and the noise that came with us but once they loosened up, they became a lot of fun. I highly recommend them.
We picked our Christmas tree at an actual farm for the first time. Every year I try to get Brad to do that. He loves a real tree but hates going and doing the hard work himself. He would rather go to Lowes and pick one that has already been harvested. I can't say I blame him but we had so much fun doing it ourself! I hope we have started a new tradition.
Brad has this week off. I love and hate these weeks. It was so fun to have him around but I hate how much it makes me hate him being gone so much! He's been doing lots of hunting and work around the house and I have enjoyed his company. Next week he will be out of town Mon-Thur and I'm already sad. =( I didn't marry him bc I like being away from him.
Hannah had another orthodontist appt today. She was supposed to get braces but he decided that we need to turn the expander more. Her upper jaw is still very crowded. It will be 5 more weeks until they try braces again.
Until next time!

online again!
For over a week our internet hasn't been working at home so I have been using my phone more than usual (expensive) to do simple things like check fb or read the blog. I told Brad we were just going to have to have a larger phone bill than usual bc I cannot stay off the internet completely for a day, let alone a week! It is too complicated to do things like post a blog or anything else for that matter from my phone. So, I'm back!! I had no idea how much I need the internet! I use it so much for my Bible Club lessons (research, lessons, worksheets, craft ideas and so on). Not to mention I haven't been on pinterest in a week either!
In other news: basketball started last weekend. Boring!! That's all I can say for now. Ryan loved it but needs a lot of work. They will only be practicing for the month of November so hopefully it will be more interesting once they are actually playing games. And so much for my hopes of sleeping in on Saturday. We have to be there at 9! The good part is that it is at the new high school less than 5 minutes from our house.
The kids had a snow day last week and are off tomorrow for election day and will be off next Monday for Veteran's day. The week after that starts Thanksgiving break. Our kids are off the whole week bc of hunting season. Brad and I are hosting the thanksgiving festivities for my side of the family. I can't wait to get together (half of us)!
We are doing some major finance changes. We want to sell the camper but this is the wrong time of year for that and we are cutting back big time on our spending. Some big bills and added expenses are the main cause of this but it is long past overdue!
Brad has been working long hours and out of town for a night here and there. No one in the family likes that but it is necessary at times.
Hannah earned the A/B Honor Roll at school for having all A's and 1 B on her report card. We are so proud of the drastic change that has taken place this year. Ryan is still graded in M's (mastery) and P's (progressing). He is doing really well also. Abigial...well, she's still Abigail! I spend lots of time following her around.
