Better day

My spirits have lifted today! I did some retail therapy this morning all by myself and I think that time alone, if only just 3 hours, was good for me! It doesn't even matter that I didn't buy anythign for myself and that I only spent a grand total of $18! Brad got called out first thing this morning. Someone was stuck on an elevator so he left out of here in a rush. After he got the lady off, she found him later and gave him an unopened container of fudge. He opened it in the truck to eat a piece and there was mold on some if it! We both got a laugh out of that! So after he left, I decided Ryan and I weren't hanging around all day. We went next door when we were leaving cuz he wanted to say hi to grandma. Needless to say, I left alone! =) She offered to keep him while I went and I wasn't about to turn down that offer! Then in the afternoon we went out to Brad's mom's so Brad could put out some clover seed to draw the deer in and Ryan could swim. By the time we got back home it was suppertime. Then Brad had to go to a going away party for his boss. Ryan and I hung out outside. He jumped on the trampoline, helped grandma load weeds in the wagon and take them back to the burn pile, we took Sammy on a bike ride. Then it was bathtime and bedtime! Tomorrow is church and then I have to spend the afternoon packing to go to mom's for the week. I can't wait!

boring

I haven't posted anything all week because, well, let's face it, my week's been pretty boring! Without my other child I haven't really wanted to do anything great with Ryan. After having two kids, nothing is as fun when only one of them is around! He wouldn' t have enjoyed the bouncy place, a pool (other than mamaw's), the park, the mall without Hannah. He has been wandering around this house like a little lost puppy! Constantly asking any of us to play with him. Brad's been working late every night and is going to be on call the entire weekend. We would have went to mom's a week early if I didn't have sunday school and children's church this Sunday. We've been going on multiple bike rides every day. It might sound like a lot but at three he's still kinda slow and they don't last very long! Today we were riding on the sidewalk by the main road and the training wheel went off the walk and he lost his balance and fell right into the road! It scared me to death but there were no cars coming and he had his helmet on. I told him no more riding on the sidewalk. I like the back streets better anyway. He hasn't been sleeping during naptime the past couple days so he's been going to bed early. Yesterday evening he fell asleep on my lap. It was so sweet! I should be watching my show, Big Brother, but I can't get the channel to come in clearly so I just turned the tv off. I'll have to watch it on the internet tomorrow. That's all folks!

Road trip

So yesterday we took Hannah to meet Aunt Jessica and Kara in Morgantown. She is going to spend a week or so with them before going with them to meet mom half way to her house in NC. Ryan and I are going to meet them at mom's and all the grandkids and I are going to spend VBS week down there. So Hannah won't be home for 2 weeks! We packed an overnight bag because we wanted to spend the night in a hotel somewhere along the way back towards home. We found out that Mountainfest Bike Week is going on in Mo-town this weekend so we knew we wouldn't be staying anywhere near there. We had picked up a magazine at a rest area that has a bunch of discount hotel room coupons in it that we could use at several of the different towns down thru there. We have used them before. Both hotels we stopped at either didn't take the coupon or didn't have the rooms lefts. And we weren't paying $100 to $160 for a room. Long story short, we got home at almost 10pm! We went out to Corridor G and rode go karts, onour way back. It was my first time ever. Ryan had a lot of fun. After a quick shower for Ryan is was bedtime! I miss Hannah but so far she is having a great time.

Tuesday

Today has been a pretty busy, but slow day. Is that even possible?! The kids had a dentist appt in the afternoon but guess what Hannah said to me first thing this morning. "Don't forget about our dentist appt." Then about every half hour or so after that they were asking me if it was time to go! Not a good way to start the day! I was sucessful at getting the laundry all caught up. I even got it all foled and put away at some point today. I also cleaned the bathrooms. The dentist appt went well. Ryan has "perfect" teeth, while Hannah has "beautiful" teeth. Ryan has great spacing, perfect bite and no cavities. Hannah does not have great spacing but her bottom front teeth are still coming in straight. She also has zero cavities but a bad bite which will probably require braces later in life. Overall, a great visit. Afterwards I had to go to walmart to get groceries. That fell right during naptime. I already knew it would be a bad trip before we got there. None of us were in the mood to shop for groceries. Ryan cried the last half hour because I wouldn't let him out of the buggy, he didn't want to sit, you name it, he cried about it! Fortunately he fell asleep on the way home and saved himself from a nap after getting home. Altho, I read you should never let a 15 min nap in the car substitute a naap at home....oh well. While we were checking out at walmart we started hearing thunder and rain pounding the roof. We ended up standing in the doorway for about 10 min waiting for the rain to let up. The lights went off for a few seconds after one lightning bolt. And Hannah started crying after one LOUD clap of thunder. We ended up running to the truck and only getting slightly wet! After supper and showers, the kids are ready for an early bedtime since they have been grouchy about all evening. I feel like I need to get in bed early too! Brad is still at work....

Camping Chaos

Oh the joys of camping! We had a great time this weekend camping with Tim, Steph and their kids, their cousins, Jake and Josh, and Terri and Rodney Cossin. We got there around 2 on Friday. The first thing Brad did was break the jack that you put down to get the camper off the truck! So we had to run back out to walmart to get a tool to fix it but he ended up just having to take the whole thing off! We didn't do much on Friday, just get camp set up and hang out. The kids played in the creek some and rode bikes. There are pics on facebook of the weekend. On Sat we woke up to rain and thunder. Luckily we had two canopies set up between the three camp sites we had so we made breakfast and hung out under there until the rain quit around 11 or so. The sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day! We went down to the pool and stayed until 5! They had 2 diving boards and a water slide and a kiddie area, which we didn't even get in. Hannah was so surprising us all! She had so much fun jumping off the diving board and going down the water slide on her belly! I got it all on video. We all had a lot of fun. By the time we got back to the camp sites to start supper, it started raining again! The kids had just as much fun playing in the rain while we cooked and then we hung out under the canopies again! Tim and family had to leave but the 2 campers stayed another night. This morning (Sunday) Brad and I woke up and laid in bed for a long time before the kids finally got up. It was almost 9. We started getting things ready to go back home and then we went on a short hike/walk. We had a great time!

Fair Fun

I spent most of the day getting the camper cleaned and ready for our camping trip this weekend. This evening the kids, Micheal and I met a friend of mine from high school and her two girls at the fair. Hannah and her oldest were in class together last year. We had a good time together. It's been nice to get back in touch with people that I went to school with and a lot of them have kids Hannah's age so I've caught up with them at school. We got there a little before 6 and left right before 10 so for 4 hours we rode rides and stood in line! But it is worth it once in awhile. I have tons more to do before tomorrow but I'm looking forward to a great weekend and hope to post pics when we get back! Pray that the rain misses us!!

Rain, Rain Go Away....

It has rained about all day today. There was a short break late morning so Ryan and I went outside just for awhile. Uncle Nat helped him ride his big boy bike (no training wheels) and he is doing great. He can go down to the mailbox. He has problems with the getting on and off cuz his legs are a little too short. So when it comes to stopping, he falls over and jumps off the bike! Other than that, we have been in the house all day. I didn't make the kids take a nap because we just didn't do anything and I knew they wouldn't be tired enough to nap today. I, however, caught a quick nap on the couch while they were watching a movie. I didn't do much around the house. I've just felt too lazy today! The kids were very well behaved and entertained themselves about all day. I did finally get up and sweep the floors after my nap and I had to do a load of laundry first thing this morning cuz Ryan peed in bed last night. That pile of blankets and sheets is still on my bed....Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

week in review...

Monday-woke up in a tent to hubby making a fire and the fresh smell of the mountains all around us. Happy that I made it thru the night without a bear siting. Spent the next 6 hours fishing and then came home.

Tuesday-Cleaned my hiney off all day. Only stopped to eat lunch and finally wrapped things up in time to make supper. The kids entertained themselves all day.

Wednesday-Took our time getting up and moving and then did a little shopping. Came home in time for lunch, the kids to play in the pool for awhile and then take a nap before making supper. Started going over ins papers with Brad about changing our plan. =) If you don't know why the smiley face, hopefully you'll know why in a few months. =) This smiley face is blushing.....Convinced hubby to take us to DQ after church.

Thursday-Took the kids to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, The Squeakuel playing for free in Teays Valley. Came home and ate lunch and did some more cleaning I think. Met up with a boy that Hannah went to school with last year and his Aunt, who I went to school with. Had a great time after the sun went down and it wasn't so hot.

Friday (today)-a couple more loads of laundry, cleaned my bathroom, tried to figure out a way to rearrange the livingroom to fit in a 20g fish tank (thanks dad). Cleaned out from under the couch, mind you we have a sectional so it was actually cleaning out from under 2 loveseats and a middle piece.....not fun and lots of dog hair, a missing shoe of Ryan's and some toys!! Daddy is on his way home from work early and he wants to go buy a new lawn mower and front door and maybe some fish if he is happy with the way I arranged things in here. We have to spend the weekend getting the camper ready for our youth camping trip next weekend.

"treasure every moment"

On our way home from Lancaster yesterday evening, we stopped at LJS in Athens to eat supper. An older couple came in after we were seated, took one look at the kids and said, "treasure every moment because they grow up so fast." I always try to do that but it was nice to hear it again. She went on to tell me that when her son was 3 and they were in California an older lady came up to her and said just that. And she really did take it to heart so now she tries to tell other young couples that same thing. Now her son is graduating (I can't remember if she said high school or college). It was nice and I almost had tears in my eyes. We talked about the sweet giggles and voices of little children and how precious they are. They truely are a gift from God! I love you Hannah and Ryan and I wouldn't trade a single day I share with you for anything else!!
