Tired

Soccer ended on Saturday. I had to wake up at 6 on the only day of the week I ever have the opportunity to sleep in, and when I say sleep in I mean 7 am. I love watching the kids play soccer but I was ready for a break. The weather is turning and spending 2-4 hrs out by the soccer field with Abigail was getting old. Well, looks like my break is short lived. Basketball starts this Saturday! Ryan has wanted to play for awhile. He talks about it a lot. We went back and forth about whether we were going to let him play, after all he is only 5. But when it came down to it, we couldn't let him down. It does not interfere with church, which is the first thing we check. And we have the extra money required to sign him up. Plus, it will be right down the road from our house, in the new high school, and not half an hour away like soccer. There will be more soccer, but for now it's basketball. I'm just praying he doesn't get put on the team that has to be there at the crack of dawn!

Cha Ching!

I went to a different walmart yesterday when I had to be out in that area. You all should know by now that any walmart is at least 20 minutes away from me, as well as the nearest Kroger and Target is twice as far so I rarely make it there! Anyway, I always look through the clothes sections, because I find good deals and I have a child in every department (baby, boy and big girl). I found a $1 clearance rack in the baby section. So here is what I got:

The blue and pink outfits you see at the top are 3 piece outfits, including a shirt, shorts and flip flops for Hannah next summer. I paid $3 for each.
I also got 11 pair of shorts, including a pair of capris, 2 pair of biker shorts, and the rest just plain shorts for Abigail for next summer. Also a skirt, a one piece outfit and a dress. All for $1 each! For a total of $20!

P.s. Notice Abigail's little hand grabbing down in the corner? She kept grabbing the clothes on purpose after I had lined them up straight for the picture. No smack on the hand or rear was stopping her. I thought Hannah was my strong willed child but I think Abigail has her beat. I'm in trouble!! =)

Looking back

Today Brad and I attended a wedding of church friends. Hannah and Ryan were in the wedding so I have spent a lot of time over the past week thinking about the wedding and hair and talking about how to behave during a wedding. And talking to the bride. Feeling all those feelings. Let's just say it has been on my mind. =) So today, after pictures, a beautiful wedding and reception, I asked Brad if he would ever want to go back 10 years ago. Ya know, to the excitement, romance, newness, and everything else you experience when you are first married. Not that there isn't still excitement, but you know. We both have loved the past 10 years and I would never change a thing but there is just something about having been married so long that is amazing. I often complain about how fast 10 years has gone by, but in reality, I don't want to go back and do it again. I love where we are now, what God has done for our family, even when things haven't been how I wanted them. I am so excited for the next 10 years with Brad and my kids. And to prove it, we both answered that we like the experience we have now and we wouldn't go back and start over just for the "feelings."

free advertising

A friend showed me a bunch of super cute clothes she got for her girls from Kmart the other day. She said all their summer stuff was on clearance for $2.99. So, of course, I wasted no time going over to check it out myself! So here is the advertising: if you know what size clothes your kids are going to wear next summer (shoes or clothes) or you want to stock up on your pool supples, GO TO KMART NOW!! I even got several pairs of really cute plaid shorts for Brad for $2.99 and that is a major steal! He is rough on clothes and I refuse to pay full price for just about everything. So we took this opportunity to buy some things. I got 13 items and would have paid $41 but I also have their reward card, which had $7 on it that I needed to spend so I only paid $34 (around there) for lots of good stuff! My most expensive buys were a new lunchbox for Ryan (he lost his at school last week) and a pair of shoes for Hannah. Both of which were $3.99.

In other news, I have become addicted to a couple of local fb yard sale sites. I have yet to buy anything but this weekend I sold $75 worth of stuff to different people! Amazing! That included $50 for Abigai's infant carseat/stroller combo.

I almost forgot to mention that I did some more yard saling this afternoon and did really well! By the time we went to kmart and walmart and ate, I figured it would be too late and most people would be packing their stuff up. I was right. A lot of people were wrapping up for the day and I happened to spot this one house up on a hill that had a few baby items out (that is usually the only houses I stop at). By this time it was after 2. I was looking around and asked if they had 2T girl clothes so I wouldn't have to dig thru everything. She said yes but it was all in the house, packed away. I figured they had already put stuff back so I apologized for being a late yard saler. She said, "oh no, we're just getting stuff out!" So I looked thru lots of cute carters and other name brand stuff and started making a pile of what I wanted. She said once that she would just give everything to me bc her husband had "the surgery" and all the baby stuff was making her sad. But my pile was getting huge with a winter coat, big thick brand new vest, 3 pair of pants and some long sleeve onsies. Then she dug out these 2 super cute tutu skirt things that were probable $20 originally, if not more. Of course I wanted them! So after I was done, I said, ok, here's my pile, how much do you want?" Her answer......$5!!! Jack Pot!!!

I wish I had pictures of all me deals (new and used) but I was so excited to go thru things and start washing them that I forgot about pictures.

Target

This post is mainly for my sister in law, Jessica. She shops at Target a lot and every time she posts what great deals she gets, I say I am going to go to Target. Well, our nearest Target is 45 min away so I only go when I need to go somewhere else that is that far away, like the craft store. Today was the day! I finally made it to Target!

All 5 shirts (3 for Hannah, 2 for Ryan) were $2.10 each.
The pajama shorts were $2.08.
Hannah won't be able to wear the blue tennis shoes until the spring probably but I couldn't pass up $5.98!
Boxer briefs for my little man were $3.48
3 pairs of capri leggings for $.88 each!
And 2 packs of black dress socks for Ryan for $1.64 each

I think I did pretty well!

At Goodwill I bought an umbrella stroller in excellent condition for $15. It is not your ordinary little umbrella stroller. It has a visor thing to keep the sun out of Abby's eyes and cup holder/compartment area up by the handles for mom and also a place underneath to put things. I would take a pic but it is out in the van and it is raining so just take my word. =) I think $15 was great. Now I can sell our big carseat/stroller combo.
