so proud

Our VBS is coming up next week. Being gone over the weekend is really putting a strain on all the last minute preparations I should be working on (decorating my room, making sure I have everything ready for crafts, studying my lessons, etc). We are headed to NC for one last visit before summer ends and the real world...school...comes knocking. =(

Anyway, I took it upon myself (not patting myself on the back but this is another post in itself) to make some nice flyers to pass around town and hang in area businesses. This evening the two older kids and I walked...I walked, they rode their bikes...around our end of town handing out flyers and inviting people. I was expecting to have to do lots of 'forcing' with the kids. Not only was it like 90* still at 7pm but passing out flyers isn't much fun for anyone. But I am so proud of Hannah and Ryan. They were actually arguing about who was going to go to the next house or talk to the next person. They were so happy to do it and didn't complain once. Hannah even said, "this is more fun than I thought it would be." Ryan was running up to people yelling (not very clearly), "vacation bible school flyer!"

Living in a place like Buffalo also makes this task not so bad. Hannah knew just about every kid we saw from school and all the adults were nice and directed us to houses around them where we would find more kids.

Pray for us as we try to reach our community this up-coming week!

I feel like today I have spent too much time cleaning up after the kids!

Abigail woke me up at around 8 this morning, yes, I said 8. That's almost 10 hours of sleep for us! Her diaper was soaked all the way thru and so was her clothes and bed. First load of laundry went in the wash a few minutes later. After I fed her and was burping her, she spit up all over the front of me and rubbed her head in if before I could move her out of the way. I wiped her up and sat her on the couch so I could go do something. When I came back to get her, she had poop coming out every opening in her diaper. Second load of laundry was started here.
After a bath she was ready to go back to bed!

Fast forward to lunchtime...

Ryan dropped his watermelon on the floor. Seeds and juiced went everywhere!! These are the days when I am most thankful for hardwood floors!! I cleaned all that up and went into the other room to fix my lunch. On the way out of the kitchen Ryan walks by me and says, "I need a towel." I already knew what that meant!! I asked him what he spilled and he said nothing. When I went into the other room I found grape juice all over the floor, soaked into a brand new pad of construction paper and a book. Aahhhhh! We don't make it one day around here without cleaning up a mess made by Ryan.

I don't think there was anything else. When Abigail laid down for her next nap I had to fold all that laundry that I washed because of her!

I love staying at home but some days it's just too much! Needless to say, I treated myself to a few oreos and two glasses of mountain dew! I'll let you know what Abigail thinks of that later! {wink}

Whole again

My house has been unusually quiet and boring for the past nine days. I've missed everything about Hannah while she was gone. But my heart, and our family, is whole again! And even tho she won't admit it, I know she missed it around here!

When we came into Charleston, where everything starts becoming familiar to her, I asked if she was glad to be home. She said yes, then after a pause she added that she missed all the trees!

Later, while swimming with Ryan, she told him with much excitement that they (aunt Jessica) have stairs! And she was allowed to run up and down them!

We gave her money to spend and she bought us all gifts. The plan was to wait until daddy got home so we could all open our gifts together but she just couldn't wait! Ryan LOVES his "water pistol" and I love my B&BW foaming soap. Daddy's chocolate is about gone and Abigail will enjoy her stuffed giraffe more when she's a bit bigger! =)

When she came in the house for the first time she said she was glad to be in her own home and sleep in her own room.

She was already missing Kara, too. If she had it her way, she said she would want to come home for a few days and then go back, then home for a few days and go back!

I can't say thanks enough to Michael, Jessica and Kara for everything. Not only did they entertain her with lots of fun things but I really feel like they treat her as one of their own children and it's nice to know that your child is safe so far away!

Made with love

Now that grandma is hours away from all the grandkids, I think it is unfair for us to call her the crazy camera lady.

I think her name should rightfully be the crazy crochet lady. But I'm ok with that because I have a very cute model who just loves the clothes she is getting out of the deal!

This is the latest outfit, headband down to the shoes.

It's a beautiful outfit but very delicate. It snags and stretches easily. I think this will be reserved for church and special ocassions!

This was the last pose and by this time she was done acting cute. The shoes just barely fit and her big toe pokes out one of the holes. Thanks grandma for a pretty outfit for a pretty girl to make some pretty pictures!
